News today that Villarreal have agreed to lend midfielder Cristobal to Segunda club Elche for the remainder of the season. Not a bad move really as he wasn't going to be seeing much playing time with the first team in the next month or so.
I haven't been able to listen to the podcast yet, but this looks to be a great explanation of the long-standing relationship between Celtic and Villarreal, which dates back to when the two sides met during the '05-'06 Champions League.

Cadena Ser is reporting that the strike proposed for this weekend will not happen. The Spanish Minister for Sport has apparently been successful in convincing the league not to strike; in the event the judge rules that a strike can go ahead, the teams will meet and decide to suspend their strike plans. No concrete promises have been made, but the league will tell its member clubs "we'll find the extra money we want somewhere". It's expected once the elections are over the question of the free game can be addressed--no politician wants to come out in favor of abolishing it in the middle of a campaign.
Carlos Marchena's play in midfield has been a key in Villarreal's recent victories
