Villarreal finally return to La Liga action on Sunday when they take on Osasuna in the first league game after the international break.

It’s also the first league game for Marcelino since taking charge, although he did oversee an extra-time comeback win over Zamora on Thursday night.

The Yellows have a number of injury issues ahead of this one, with Aissa Mandi, Yeremy Pino and Mateo Gabbia all recent blows, but Juan Foyth is back in action.

While the Yellows have a fresh start under Marcelino, they don’t get the benefit of a fresh start in the La Liga standings. As things stand, the Yellow Submarine are 15th and just two points and two places behind today’s opponents Osasuna, who will also be disappointed with their campaign so far.

Osasuna managed to qualify for Europe last season, but they lost in the qualifiers of the Conference League early this season, and they have followed that up with a disappointing league campaign so far.

This is one the Yellows will want three points from the kick-start the Marcelino reign (part two), and as ever, we invite you to join the conversation before, during and after the game in the comments section below.
