Under the campaign title ‘Vivela’, Villarreal have released new kits for the 2021-2022 season. After a year where the first two shirts were clean, solid designs that the third ‘aston villarreal’ kit was somewhat less intriguing, Joma produces another set of threads as the club goes into the Champions League.

Home, yellow as always.
Away, passionate red.
Third, dark grey-blue.

The key feature of the home shirt, to me, is the ‘V’ in the neck line, very intentionally a reference to the club name. I like it, and it reminds me a bit of the neckline of the 2019-2020 away kit which I own and love. The away kit is a well patterned red, and if I didn’t own three red shirts already (Spain, Wales, Munster Rugby) I’d probably get it. The alternate kit, the ‘grey-blue’ is a great color as a base but I suppose the determining factor for a lot of people will be how you feel about the pink lettering. Personally, it’s not for me.
I do like both training shirts on the far left though, especially that light blue one. Overall, I think Joma gave us a good set of kits that are an overall improvement from last season.
So, what do you think? Let us know in the comments if you will be buying a Villarreal shirt this year based on these offerings, or if you think you’d rather pass. Down below, I’ll stick a poll in to find out which of the three matchday shirts you prefer (sometimes these polls don’t load right on mobile).
