Still wiping the tears out of my eyes this is the happiest match report ever had to write. My heart is still pounding from that shootout. Still Can’t believe that we are UEFA Europa League winners for 2021.! My friend and mentor Robin Harris will be screaming the heavens down.

Gerard Moreno hero yet again in the 29th minute. Parejo with a beautiful freekick Gerard danced through the wall of defenders and poked the ball into the back of the net. 1-0. Villarreal then became a fortress of defence resiting every single United attack

55 minutes Manchester United came back fighting. The rebound fell Cavani with a typical skill launched a right-footed shot into the bottom corner. McTominay assisted with a beautiful run but it was the unfortunate rebound that leads to the goal

The match then became a scrappy battle for a midfield with chances not falling to either side. The sides battled to the final minutes with penalties on the horizon as the game went into extra times

Heart jumped out of the chest for both sets of fans as the players stepped up for the shootout. In a penalty shootout, United had the experience and Villarreal the clear underdogs. It was the Yellow Submarine that rose to the occasion. In the penalty shoot-out after 21 beautiful kicks, it was down the Goalkeepers.

Rulli stepped up with the most beautiful kick into the top righthand corner which caught every Villarreal fan of the guard. Spaniard David de Gea stepped up sent the ball into the bottom right-hand corner where hero Ruli saved it.

Never thought I would be ending this match report with these words. Villarreal UEFA Europa League Champions 2021
