Villarreal’s first chance came in the 2nd minute. Gerard held off the defender and flicked the ball back to the edge of the box. Parejo sent a left-footed shot towards the goal which was saved by the keeper.

28 minutes in Gerard was through on goal he somehow managed to lay the ball back to Manu Trigueros who put the ball into the back of the net. The ref pulled it back to declare that Gerard had brought down the keeper and CB prior to the shot. The unfair decision to Villarreal but the goal was ruled out.

Osasuna was unbeaten in their last four away games against teams in the Valencia Communidad. Villarreal were the last defenders of the Communidad against the Basque side however that defence failed.

Emery turned it around the second half recognizing Alberto Moreno being a weak link on the left side. He replaced Moreno with Pedraza and Capoue with Coquelin at the halftime mark.

Both players were instrumental in the second half. In the 55th Minute, Pedraza sent a beautiful cross in the box. Gerard first time sent a beautiful volley into the top corner to make it 1-1. It was the first goal for the Catalan in the 2122 season.

In typical fashion, Villarreal appeared to be playing for yet another draw until Mandi’s last-minute calamity. The Centre Back played a very weak pass back. Avila then jumped on the pass and put the ball into the back of the net 2-1.

Famous for torturing bulls, the city of Pamplona will be celebrating tonight after they also tortured Villarreal fans with their last-minute victory.
