Foyth and Jaume Costa to miss time due to injuries

Bad start of a Sunday for the team coached by Unai Emery. As per the medical report published by Villarreal CF at their web, Foyth will be out with a muscle tear in his left thigh. The club reports that the injury happened in the league match against Granada with no timetable to return, but we could expect him to be about a month out.

On the other hand, Jaume Costa has been in close contact with a positive, so he will have to self quarantine. His first test came back negative, but he will have to isolate himself for ten days and face PCR tests to return with the group as per the healthcare and sporting authorities. Of course, both this news can explain the line-up from yesterday as Funes Mori starting on the right. And also bears the question what now. Emery has been looking up a right flank player so he can move Peña to a more offensive position and Foyth could have been one of the players who you could try there. Another option could have been trying Costa on the right, but that’s a far-fetched idea. Maybe it would be a good moment to close a deal for a right flank player seeing as Samu Chukwueze is out and Peña could spark a bit the team at the front.
