Another Villarreal match day and it’s already a big one. After only getting one point off Huesca, we need to go ahead and get three points here today so as not to be in a bind when we travel to the Camp Nou next weekend. Speaking of Catalan dumpster fire, reports this morning are saying that we are going to buy defender Jorge Cuenca from them. We will be sure to track that story as it develops, as a center back has been a long time coming though it appears we have taken a bit of a risk in getting one.

Emery essentially doubles down on his concept from last week, which I’m fine with. Good to see that Coquelin is okay. Mario is in for an injured Ruben. New man Estupinan starts on the bench as he didn’t have a ton of time training with the team after the move became official. I came away from the last match feeling like everyone could have played at least 10% better. If we do that today, we should cruise to a win.

There’s a lot of La Liga experience in this lineup from Eibar, but like our opponents last week they are short on top end talent. We should really keep a clean sheet against this crowd and get our season officially on track.
