No one is ever proud to win on penalties apart from Man United. It was the introduction of Moi Gomez who changed the game. The star man earned 2 spot kits for Santi to put away. Ruben Pena earned and unlikely goal in the final few minutes to wrap it up 3-1 against Getafe

There were very few chances for the Yellows in the first half. Ontiveros’s 30-yard strike went just under the post. The shot was so unexpected it practically concussed the Getafe keeper.

The second half the game changed completely with the introduction of Moi. He proved more active in the game and brought energy to the right wing. The change gave more freedom for Pena to press.

After a killer pass from Santi. Moi was through on goal and was brought down by Soria. Santi calmly stepped forward to put the Yellows into the lead.

Getafe soon struck back when they caught Villarreal napping on a corner. Duro latched onto a cross and levelled up the game. It was an impressive header from the 20-year-old but Villarreal really should have done better in defence

Moi was at it again earning another penalty. Portillo left his foot in going for the ball against Moi. It was devastating for Getafe who played well. In all honestly it was soft decision. Santi stepped up again making him the highest goal scoring spot kick taker in the league.

Pena soon finished the game with an excellent assist from Gerrard

Any football fan would feel for Getafe. They played well and one of the few Spanish side that just get up and get on with it. Far from the cheats or Barcelona and ten times more respectable than their neighbours Real Madrid.

Solid performance overall, Samu had a quiet game with Iborra pretty sloppy in midfield. Gerrard Moreno will be suspended for next game. Fer Nino’s time to shine if Alcacer isn’t fit. Strong victory for Villarreal as they press on for the European places.
