Well, it’s that time of year. We have new kits for the 2020-2021 season and Joma has managed to both take risks and keep things simple in our three options for next year. If you’re interested, here is Villarreal’s release video:

They kept things simple on the home shirt, which is something I appreciate. That said, they put ribbing on the fabric (that you can see in the video above) and I think that texture looks great.

The away shirt is similarly classic, I like the dark blue with the yellow trim, and it’s worth noting how lucky we are that we have a sponsor whose logo is so flexible with each kit. Not everyone can just change the text color on their sponsor kit to kit, some folks have big nasty logos that stick out like a sore thumb regardless.

To me, the controversy comes with the third kit. Frankly, we look like Aston Villarreal. Maybe it’s my exposure to English football, but I feel like the claret and blue is overdone and I’m not thrilled that we have it. That said, having seen what many other clubs have put out this year, overall we could be much, much worse off. I think Joma has done good work overall and I’m pleased. Now I just have to decide whether I’m going with yellow or blue for next season.

What about you? What do you think of our kits this year? Will you be buying one? Let us know in the comments!
