Sr. Roig’s brother Alfonso passes away, aged 69

Villarreal has announced the death of Sr. Roig’s brother Alfonso. He was 69 years old. Cause of death was not disclosed.

President of Villarreal Sr. Roig (Fernando Roig Alfonso) is one of six brothers, of which five are still living. Alfonso was I believe involved with Alicante’s football club Herculés at one time, but there’s not a lot of public information about him. Of the brothers, Juan (mjor owner of Mercadona, owner of Valencia Basket) is the one we’ve seen most often with Sr. Roig at Villarreal matches.
