Villarreal Femenino A visited the Canary Islands to play UD Tacuense in a hard match for them, where they had to work the whole match to finally come home with the three points. Sanjuan (GK), Palo, Sheila Guijarro, Aixa Salvador, Naiara, Celia, Iris Domínguez, Cristina Díaz, Sara Medina, Lara Mata and Albeta started with Pau (GK), Marieta, Vera Rico, Teresa, Jarque, Querol and M. Ortells waiting for the chance.
Villarreal dominated the first half but being unlucky to get the goal. Wether it was from a header from a corner kick going up to Aixa shooting wide or the rival goalkeeper being very concentrated on not allowing the goal. Tacuense had the most memorable chance from a long shot that failed to surprise Sanjuan.
After halftime, Aixa capitalized on a defensive error to open the scoreboard and put Villarreal ahead. The second half played the same as the first one, with few chances of Tacuense, although they had the tie in a chance that their forward didn’t capitalize on. The last minutes saw Tacuense going all out on the attack, as losing by two goals is not so different than doing it by one, but Villarreal managed to hold onto the result and get their three, well deserved, points.
Villarreal won, but the ones at the front did it too. Next match is this Thursday the post-poned match against the last team at the standings, a win is a must. After that match, they will play again in Match 14 at home against Málaga in an important match.
Villarreal Femenino B got a draw in a match marked by wind, which helped Villarreal B team to score from a long shot by Elisa Barberan. Mislata got the tie from a penalty kick with fifteen minutes to finish.
All the results from the teams down there are quite good for Villarreal B as only Murcia Feminas and CFF Maritim got a draw from their match, while Levante C lost against SPAL and Valencia C lost against Lorca. Next match will be on March 14 against Lorca.
Villarreal Femenino C managed to get the three points in a very difficult match against Drac Castellon. Claudia Baila scored very early, but that was it as Drac managed to get control of the match and produce a lot of chances to draw the game, while Villarreal had a bit of a problem to get closer to the net, with two more shots gone wide. Second half was the same as Drac got a lot of really good chances that didn’t end as a goal who knows why. One of them was the tying goal for Drac that helped to awake Villarreal as they started to increase the quality of their attacks. A last minute penalty kick, protested by local fans, saw Villarreal emerge victorious.
And the race with La Eliana to get the promotion continues. Both teams have won, as well as Tavernes Blanques and Torre Levante. Next matches will be La Eliana against Cabanyal and Villarreal C against Pedralba, matches were neither side won at the first round, but a lot can change in three months.
Villarreal Infantil-cadete saw a goaless draw and lost their top position, which means they can’t lose any points up to the finish and must win CFF Maritim at the end of this month to clinch the league title.
Another story for Villarreal base as they won 6-0 San Lorenzo de Castellon to continue their good form
