This last weekend, Villarreal femenino had a regional matchup, meeting in Miralcamp the newly promoted UD Aldaia, a city in the metropolitan area of Valencia. The match was not broadcasted, as per usual, Villarreal doesn’t broadcast their women’s team so details are scarce.
The lineup was very similar to the recent ones. Main changes are Sara Medina returning to the starting XI and Sara Martínez getting her first start of the season. This was a great choice when in the 28th, Sara Martínez scored what has been called a golazo to put Villarreal ahead. Salma wouldn’t miss her appointment with the goal, scoring the second four minutes later. With a 2-0 on the scoreboard, the groguetes would get to the locker room with the match under control. In the second half, Sheila Guijarro would scored the third one to put the definitive 3-0.
With this 3 points, Villarreal puts themselves as leaders of the group, going as one of the top teams in the groupins. More so, Salma gets her 6th of the season to cement herself more as the top scorer in the group. Sheila scored her 2nd of the season. Their next match is against Real Unión de Tenerife, in a possible broadcasted match.
B and C team updates:
Villarreal B didn’t have a match due to odd number grouping, so few changes here. Inés Rizo scored twice, so the top scorer has now 7 goals, three more than Vera Rico, the highest scorer of Villarreal. Their next match is against her team, Elche, in what will be a very important match
Finally, Villarreal C returned to the field, and did so with a heavy loss by 4-0 against SPAL B. While they have two postponed matches still to be played (against Rafelbunyol on November 25 and Mislata B on December 2) while other teams are in their same position, they need to start getting some three points if they don’t want to suffer during the season. Right now they are 13th with 2 points, only 1 above relegation spot. Next match is against Biensa, a difficult team to face.
