Aixa Salvador Scores Twice for Spain

An excellent performance.

Colombia v Spain - FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup Uruguay 2018

We always want to seme our players perform and do well for the national team and that’s exactly what Aixa Salvador did against Madrid CFF for the Spain U19s. In an otherwise rough game for her side, she bagged two second half goals that show a lot about her as a player. The first goal was the sort that only goes to hard working players as she took advantage of a weak back pass and subsequent keeper error with a good piece of pressure that resulted in the tap in.

The second goal was a striker’s dream. She found a gap in central defense, received the ball back to the goal with her left foot, and with one touch open opened to the net, created space, and fired. It looked like something out of a designed drill and you can tell it was a sequence she has practiced repeatedly. Good training turns into good on field results.

At just 18 years old, Salvador is one of several young players that the women’s first team has peforming well both in the second tier of Spain and also the youth national team setup. If we can hold on to this young core of players, we should be in good position to be a force in women’s Spanish football in the years to come.

You can see the full highlights of the match below. While it’s very difficult here in the states to catch these games as they happen, it’s very exciting to see members of the Villarreal family doing well on the pitch.
