Villarreal B host Orihuela today

Villarreal B host Orihuela at 10AM Pacific Time today (you can figure what that corresponds to where you live). It’s a bit early to gauge form, of course, but our visitors lost their first away game of the season 4-0 to Ejea before drawing 1-1 with Prat. Orihuela are newly promoted to the Segunda B so realistically will be looking to consolidate a mid-table position this term.

And is there a Villarreal connection? Yes, there is, though I don’t remember this fellow at all—-José Maria Cases Hernandez (Cases) is an attacker who aplayed for our cantera and made one appearance for our first team in the 2004-05 season, coming on as a substitute and playing 18 minutes.

He was 18 then; now 32, that’s the only Primera experience he’s had. He spent some time in Belgium and Greece,but has mostly knocked around Spain with Eibar, Cadiz, Mirandes, Alcoyano. This is his second tour of duty with Orihuela.
