Young two-sport star signs with Villarreal

As had been reported earlier, Villarreal were in the pole position to sign young Spanish youth international—and track and field star—Salma Paralluelo, and her signing was announced today. Make no mistake, this is quite a get for our ladies’ side—she has signed a three-year contract and the young winger will look to be playing an important role for Sara Monforte’s side.

Salma, who doesn’t even turn 16 until November 13th (!), is from Zaragoza. She played alongside Villarreal’s Aixa Salvador in the Spanish under-17 national side that won European and World honors.

In track, she’s a 400 meters runner and has won Spanish U19 honors; she will begin competing for the track and field team Playas de Castellón in January.
