Villarreal B are in the spotlight with four wins from four

Villarreal’s second team made it four wins from four yesterday with a 3-0 win at UE Llagostera. Unfortunately I don’t know of any video highlights from this but the Llagostera official site has a detailed description of things in Catalan if you want to try it.

The first goal came from Simón Moreno, who has put aside his disappointment at being “returned” from Malaga. This was his first start for the B team this season, and his first goal was evidently a golazo—as the Llagostera writer indicated, “all you could do was applaud”.

Simón added a second goal late on, and Alex Millan scored his first goal for the B team too. Villarreal’s official site also notes the debut of Alex Baena, a Spanish youth international who started the season with Villarreal C.

It’s early, evidently, but four wins from four is something to celebrate. Next Saturday the B-boys face Barcelona’s B team at our Mini Estadi. Simón scored our two goals in this fixture last year (a 2-1 win in March) so hopefully we can come out on top again.
