A couple of rumors....
(1) Simón Moreno, who played for Villarreal B last year and was being loaned to Almeria, may see that loan voided. (I guess that is ok to do as long as the transfer window is still open). He might go to Malaga, or another Segunda A side. Or, he might end up at Villarreal B again.
(2) Santy Caceres is apparently heading to the Segunda, perhaps to join Dani Raba at Huesca (Raba scored for them last week, btw). Which is sort of a waste given that he is certainly capable of playing in the Primera, but finding a team we are willing to help in the Primera is not easy, and he needs playing time. There was some talk of him heading to Italy, maybe to Bologna, but evidently he does not want to do that.
(3) And speaking of Italy, here’s a rumor from La Gazetta, reprinted in MARCA: Sampdoria’s Jacopo Sala is ‘in Villarreal’s orbit’. Sala mostly plays right back and would be at best a backup to Ruben Peña, and that would only make sense if Mario Gaspar were going somewhere.
(4) And finally, news that Villarreal is likely to sign 15 year-old prodigy Salma Parulluelo. She’s being pursued by a number of Primera clubs but the kicker here is that Salma, in addition to being an under-17 Spanish youth international in football, is also a track star, holding the under-20 Spanish record for the 400 meters indoors, the under-18 national record for the 400 outdoors—and she’s only 15. Villarreal are willing to let her combine both track and football.
