Villarreal—Schalke 04 friendly: gamethread

On the assumption some of you will be able to catch this, I’m putting up a gamethread for it. If I get any Villarreal team news I will pass it along. Samu Chukwueze has returned to training, but probably won’t play today. Zambo Anguissa has been practicing with the team regularly now, so I would expect to see him.

I will be particularly interested to see what system we try put with Anguissa on the pitch: 4-2-3-1, 4-4-2, 4-1-3-2, etc etc.

Schalke had a disappointing seaosn last year, finishing 14th in the Bundesliga, and haven’t had a great preseason either. Interestingly, they played Bologna, whom we will face in our final friendly, and lost 3-2.

USA supporters will know that young Winston McKennie plays for Schalke; he scored a couple of goals in the recent Gold Cup.
