Villarreal 4-4 Granada: goals, goals, goals...

Unfortunate that Granada profited from a joke penalty to share the points, but that happened way early. Four goals should give you a win at home, especially being 4-2 up, but....

I was most impressed by Moi Gomez, Anguissa, Samu and Santi. Albiol and Pau were OK but got caught too close together on the second goal. Q, uintillá did well at the offensive end, not so great and the defensive end.

Gerard had been anonymous until he scored. Ruben Peña struggled, surprisingly. Iborra missed a sitter at one end and then was one of the players caught out on the set pieces, but really, that was a team effort.

We thought we might have to outscore teams this year to win, and when you’re 4-2 up at home and all you can do is bring in a midfielder and two strikers off the bench, that proves the point.

Let’s not overlook a horrible performance from the referee, but still...
