Sr. Roig says the team is pretty much set

Of course, we have heard that before.

Team captains Bruno and Mario bring the floral offering down the tile steps.

Villarreal’s first team made the traditional trip to the Mare de Deu de Gracia chapel and the Sant Pasqual Basilica, which is something they do every year before the season starts. The team brings a floral offering which, naturally, has a lot of yellow, and it’s always fun to see and hear the priest (who is a big Villarreal fan) give his blessing to the team.

There’s a video below, and if you understand Valencian, you can listen to Sr. Roig’s comments about the team. The main things he said are, as always, the first priority is remaining in the Primera, after that we can think about qualifying for Europe. He says we have a ‘good team’ and Ontiveros, if he escapes from the clutches of Al-Thani, will be our last signing. Not sure if I believe that—are we really going with Mario and/or Chakla as our fourth centerbacks?—but that’s what he said.

Bruno Soriano seems to be recovering after his last knee operation, though he is still working on the side and has not yet tried to do the sort of work that shut him down last time due to knee discomfort, as far as I know. But everyone is optimistic.

A quick reminder to enter our prediction contest!! Endavant Villarreal !
