VIllarreal’s Juvenil A side continues its Copa del Rey campaign tomorrow, taking on Real Sociedad in the second leg of their quarterfinal. The Yellows won the first leg at home 4-1, and you can watch the return leg on Villarreal TV tomorrow.

The other quarterfinals are Real Madrid-Barcelona (Madrid lead 2-0), Espanyol-Atlético Madrid (Atleti lead 3-2), and Levante-Numancia (1-1 after first leg).

In other news, do you remember where you were six years ago, June 8, 2013? Villarreal fans probably do, because that’s the day we defeated Almeria— Cani’s pass to Jony Pereira produced the only goal of the match—and obtained promotion back to the Primera.

Jony and his Alcorcón team didn’t make the Segunda playoffs this year, but they are now set: Malaga take on Deportivo La Coruña and Albacete face Mallorca, with the winners facing off for promotion to the Primera.

Malaga have won five in a row and will be slight favorites based on that, but there is only a six-point difference between the boquerones in third and Depor in sixth.

Cadiz (no wins in their last seven matches) and Real Oveido (three losses in their last three road matches) end the season four and five points behind, respectively.

And Almería, who ended up getting promoted along with us in 2013 through the playoffs, finished eight points out.
