Looks like our second team will be spending another year in the Segunda B following today’s 2-0 home loss to Melilla. By all accounts, the Mini Submarine did not play well; the turning point of the match came just after the hour mark when the referee awarded a penalty to Melilla and a second yellow to Carlos Blanco. The penalty was converted by Menudo for the visitors, and we were a man down.
At 1-0 I guess there was still some hope but another Menudo goal in injury time gave them a 2-0 win. Unless we can score three times in Africa next week and limit them to one goal, we’re out. (Quintillá and Morlanes played for us today, by the way).
In the group winners’ matches,
Racing Santander 0-0 Atletico Baleares, Fuenlabrada 3-0 Recreativo Huelva
