Here we go again....this time with the strikers.
Gerard Moreno—we paid Espanyol €20m to get him. Overall his numbers weren’t impressive—25 league starts (35 appearances) with eight goals and one assist; in all competitions, 47 appearances, 13 goals. We had hoped for more; he seemed to get it together late in the season, when he starred in both of the legs of our EL quarterfinal against Zenit, and he did score in three of our last five league matches.

Karl Toko Ekambi—Like Gerard, he finished strong, with six goals in his last 10 league appearances. Overall, 24 league starts (34 appearances) with 10 goals; 18 goals and 5 assists in all competitions (47 appearances). 1.7 shots per match compared to Gerard’s 2.0, if that matters, though that stat may be slightly affected by using him on the wing sometimes.

Carlos Bacca— Everyone loves the Colombian personally, even though he didn’t have a great season on the pitch. He started only 12 league matches (33 appearances) with six goals and an assist. And he had 11 goals in 18 starts (42 appearances) overall. He only played half the league minutes that he did last season, and his goals went from 15 to 6. But he probably would have had a few more if not for poor offside calls!
