Daniele Bonera to be out for a month

Not good news.

Daniele Bonera’s muscle injury is a bad one—he’s got a hamstring tear that will keep him out of action for a month. With an international break in late March, it’s possible he’ll be able to return for Celta on the 30th, but he’ll definitely miss matches against Atleti, Alaves, Lavante and Rayo in the league, as well as tomorrow’s Europa League clash.

Bad news, as he’s been very good in the middle of our three-man back line. Mario Gaspar is suspended against Atleti and both Alvaro and Funes Mori are one yellow from a suspension, so it’s not a good time to lose Bonera. (Not that there ever is a good time). Expect Iborra and Mario to work on playing back there if need be.
