Villarreal know their Europa League group opponents

The Europa League group stage draw was held today and Villarreal are in group G, along with Rapid Vienna, Spartak Moscow and Rangers. The complete groups are as follows:

B: RB Salzburg, Celtic, RB Leipzig, Rosenborg

C: Zenit, Copenhagen, Bordeaux, Slavia Prague

D: Anderlecht, Fenerbache, Dinamo Zagreb, Spartak Trnava

E: Arsenal, Sporting Lisbon, Qarabag, Vorskla

F: Olympiacos, AC Milan, Real Betis, Dudelange

G: Villarreal, Rapid Vienna, Spartak Moscow, Rangers

H: Lazio, Marseille, Eintracht Frankfurt, Apollon Limassol

I: Besiktas, Genk, Malmo, Sarpsborg

J: Sevilla, Krasnodar, Standard Liege, Akhisarspor

K: Dinamo Kiev, Astana, Stade Rennais, Jablonec

Villarreal were seeded 10th in Pot A; their opponents were seeded 12th, 8th, and 9th in their pots, respectively, so we could have done a lot worse. And travel won’t be quite as bad as last year, except for the trip to Moscow.

obviously the key will be to get wins in those first two matches to set up for the second half, when we have two home matches of the three. Endavant!!
