Villarreal training starts; midfield still unsettled

Training began today with almost everyone there (not Denis Cheryshev, still returning from the World Cup). Javi Calleja gave his first press conference where he mentioned Bruno Soriano had worked hard during the summer and was delighted to see Santi Cazorla. (Villarreal fans on twitter have been eagerly retweeting photos of him today).

As far as midfielders are concerned:

Carvalho—we are supposedly in the picture, Betis has said they will pay €15m plus variables for him so....

Borja Valero—is happy at Inter according to his agent

So Villarreal are interested in Ignacio Carmacho according to Marca.

Nothing new on Battaglia, Berge or Caceres that I’ve seen.

Also being reported Cadiz want Nahuel on loan, but that’s not likely to happen unless he extends his contract (due to expire in summer 2019).
