Villarreal players begin reporting, preseason schedule finalized

Villarreal players have begun trickling in for the preseason ritual of physical checkups prior to training beginning in earnest—which is coming on Monday.

Villarreal have finalized their list of preseason friendlies, and it is:

July 17 vs Herculés, which will be more of a scrimmage than anything else I’d guess, since it’s happening at the Ciudad Deportiva (where our B and C teams play)

July 21 Olympique Marseille

July 22-27 we will be at the Torremirona resort for a ‘stage’, as we have done in recent years. It’s near Figueres, if anyone wants to visit! However, in the middle of that, we take a short trip across the French border to play Montpellier (July 25). This is taking place in the little town of Canet-en-Roussillon, east of Perpignan.

July 28 Villarreal—Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough.

August 1 Villarreal—Angers at Angers.

August 4 Villarreal—Wolverhampton Wanderers at Molineux.

August 8 Villarreal-Real Zaragoza, also at the Mini Estadi in Vila-real.

August 11 Villarreal-Werder Bremen, in Bremen.

So, France, Germany, England, and Spain. Need to make it to the USA next summer!!!
