Villarreal have officially welcomed Santi Cazorla as a member of our squad—the deal is he will train with us in the preseason (starts in early July) and if he is physically OK, he’ll be part of the 2018-19 squad.
Santi played his first match for Villarreal’s first team in 2003, left in July 2011 (not his choice), had a brilliant year with Malaga before they sold him to Arsenal, where he was hugely popular and successful until being injured nearly two years ago in a Champions League tie.
Cazorla has posted some videos on his twitter of his training recently; in fact, he spent the last week or so training with the Alavés youth side, as that’s close to his house in Asturias, and Villarreal’s pitches were in use for the La Liga Promesas tournament.
Welcome home, Santi!!
