Villarreal news April 4: Trigueros returns to practice, B and C teams focus of weekend

A quiet day in Vila-real, evidently; the good news is that Manu Trigueros returned to practice, so—especially since we don’t play until Monday—the chances of him returning against Atletico Bilbao have increased.

With the first team playing on Monday, the spotlight on the weekend focuses to the B and C teams. Villarreal B, still second in the table, host Olot (currently 15th) on Saturday morning. Our second team has only won twice since the beginning of February, and are 2-4-1 in their last seven matches. This game is exactly the sort of game we have to win, not just draw, given that we’re playing at home. With #1 (Mallorca) hosting #6 (Lleida) and #5 Cornella and #4 Badalona playing each other on Sunday, this would be a very helpful three points to have.

Villarreal C defeated Recambios Colón today, 3-0, but with most of the teams ahead of them winning as well, they’re still in eighth place, seven points outside the playoff spots. The last of these is currently occupied by La Nucía, and we play them—at their ground—on Sunday.
