Cameroon international striker Karl Toko-Ekambi will be on the move this summer; his current club SCO Angers are looking to cash in. Ekambi is 25 and joined Angers from Sochaux in 2016 for about €1m; now they are looking for €25-30m.
Apparently they turned down a bid in January for €20m. The article below reports that came from Brighton, but MARCA says Villarreal were interested then as well.
Angers didn’t want to let him go in the winter window anyhow because they were close to the relegation zone, but now that their survival in Ligue 1 is almost assured for another season (they’re 13th, eight points above the relegation zone, with five matches remaining) it’s pretty clear Toko Ekambi will be leaving in summer.
With 17 goals, he’s got three more this season than Alessane Plea, another striker we’re rumored to be interested in.
