Congratulations to Wolverhampton Wanderers—the Wolves achieved promotion today without kicking a ball. Fulham’s draw means that Wolves will finish in one of the automatic promotion places.

For Villarreal supporters, this has interest because Wolves took on Alfred N’Diaye in the summer, and part of the loan deal was if Wolves are promoted, they can either purchase N’Diaye for €9m outright, or can return him to us but pay a €2.5m “penalty fee”.

N’Diaye has appeared in 31 matches for Wolves, though has started only 13, playing 1254 minutes. So he hasn’t exactly been a key part of the squad; will Wolves sign him, or not?

And, what would Villarreal prefer? Last August, with Bruno expected to return before long and young Rodri expected to sign a new contract with us, N’Diaye seemed surplus to requirements. But now, with Bruno not having played in a year and Rodri moving on to Atleti for €20m according to all reports, we’re looking for a defensive midfielder.

N’Diaye is a good tackler and is strong on the ball, though concentration can be an issue. Will Wolves take the €9m gamble on him being an EPL regular?
