Manu Trigueros is travelling to Germany to consult a doctor about his persistent pubis problems. He’s been playing through the pain, and intends to continue to do so throughout the remainder of the campaign, but is visiting the doctor in part to discuss whether he may need surgery once the season ends. But until then, Manu says unless he’s carried out on a stretcher, he’ll play.
Manu is certainly happy to have a week off to rest up, and noted that while playing in three competitions was nice, at this point of the season having only one match a week was helpful—especially when you’re dealing with a chronic issue like he has been.
Coach Calleja tried to rest him in the league when we had short turnarounds (like Eibar and Espanyol), and he has performed better with that extra rest. Manu also noted he is more used to the double pivot, so when we’ve gone back to that, he’s been more comfortable as well.
