Villarreal need three points against Getafe

A disappointing February comes to a close.

The February period figured to be key for Villarreal, and so it has turned out, though not in the positive way Submarine supporters had hoped. Two losses and a draw in La Liga, two losses in the Europa League, and the worst of it is the clubs we lost to in the league are ones we should have beaten.

Now, Getafe come to the Ceramica. The Madrid side haven’t allowed a goal in three matches and haven’t lost in six league campaigns. They don’t score much on the road (only 8 in 11 matches) but they don’t allow many goals either (only 12). Count on Getafe trying to sit behind the ball a lot and wait to counter.

Juan Cala, who had been a mainstay in defense, has moved to China, and Damian Suarez is suspended, so the back four will need to be reshuffled a bit. And Mikel Bergara is injured so misses out.

Villarreal hasn’t announced their side as I write this, so I don’t know if Nicola Sansone is available or not.

Prediction: This is another side that will play for the break or the free kick opportunity. Isn’t it about time we won one of these type of matches? 1-0 to Villarreal.
