A good weekend in the cantera

Villarreal B returned to the head of the table with a 2-1 win at Ontinyent, while Hercules were held at Olot 0-0. Dani Villa and Enric Franquesa scored our goals. Next up, we host Olot on Saturday (9AM Pacific Standard Time) and that should be on Villarreal TV Live.

And did you know we have a second team leading its group? And they’re undefeated to boot? I am talking about the Villarreal ladies, who defeated Elche 2-1 and lead the table with 22 points from 8 matches. Sara Monfort’s side are supposed to play Ciudad de Murcia next week, who are one of two teams that everyone is beating up on, so much so that I’m not even sure they fulfilled their last fixture. Here are the highlights from the Elche match:

Villarreal C had a slow start to the season but are now putting things together; their 3-1 win at Paterna gave them four wins and a draw in their last five matches. They are currently on 17 points, three off the playoff spots. They host Crevillente Sunday morning (7AM Pacific time); the visitors are currently on 20 points. Should be a good one.
