Bakambu to China for €40m+?

Media reports think so.

Media reports in Spain are that Chinese club Beijing Guoan are willing to activate Cedric Bakambu’s reserve clause (€40m at least) and negotiate a big increase in his salary if he’ll move to China.

This would be a massive shock if it were to happen, since Bakambu is likely to be wanted by Premier League clubs in the summer. PL teams could pay him very well, too, and offer him far more quality soccer. But, having benefited by unloading Alexandre Pato to a Chinese club after he proved to be a bust, are Villarreal about to lose one of their top assets? So far, most of the reports suggesting so have come from China.

Should Bakambu join Guoan, he’ll join ex-Barcelona and ex-Red Bull Salzburg striker Jonathan Soriano (16 goals in 19 games so far this season).

Not thinking it’s likely, but money has a way of talking, doesn’t it?
