Europa League Playoff Round draw made

Villarreal won’t enter the draw until the group stage proper (we’ll know our group on August 25, and we’ll be seeded first in it) but the draw for the playoff round of the Europa league took place today.

Some of the smaller clubs that have fought through to this point—Shkendija and Vardar from Macedonia, and Domzale from Slovenia—may have seen their luck run out, as they have drawn some of the tougher teams in the draw (Milan, Fenerbahce and Marseille, respectively).

Meanwhile, the draw for the Champions League playoff round has been made as well—remember the ten losers from this round will drop into the Europa League. Sevilla had a luckier draw than us, playing Istanbul Basaksehir; Hoffenheim-Liverpool and Napoli-Nice are among the other ties. And Celtic, who defeated Astana last year in a preceding round, face them again. That draw is here.
