It’s being reported that Adrian Marin, like Alfonso Pedraza before him, has reached agreement with Villarreal on a new contract. It hasn’t been signed yet, but word is the contract will extend until 2021. Unlike Pedraza, though, Marin will be part of Villarreal’s first team this season, competing with Jaume Costa for the left-back position.
Unfortunately, even though talks with Rodrigo Hernandez’s agents began sooner, agreement hasn’t been reached yet—partly because Rodri played in the Spain U-21 side this summer, partly because as a result of that there are several teams that are willing to pay his current €12m release clause. However, it doesn’t appear Rodri is interested in leaving, but he can certainly use that interest as leverage for an improved contract. So, the negotiations are continuing.
