Villarreal news: Boca friendly, Afif loan, more

It’s being reported Villarreal are going to play a friendly against Boca Juniors at La Bombonera on August 2. Apparently the Real Zaragoza friendly is now our B team playing them, instead of Olimpic Xativa.

The Boca friendly should have some TV coverage, and will be the first time we’ve traveled to South America. Also being reported Argentina’s president Macri may be in attendance.

Akram Afif is being loaned to Belgian team Eupen, where he played previously with some success. He didn’t play much at Sporting Gijón and is obviously not in our plans. José Angel, who played well with us in limited action on loan from Porto last season, has signed for Eibar—an excellent signing for them. Adrián López is rumored to be joining Betis from Porto but not confirmed yet.

Cedric Bakambu may have extended his contract to 2022, but nothing announced yet with Rodrigo Hernandez; Sr. Roig Negueroles said not to worry, and since Rodri is just now reporting to camp after playing in the U-21 national team, expectations are something will be announced soon.
