Sergio Asenjo’s recovery appears to be ahead of schedule, according to an article in the EPM paper today. He was injured on February 26, but is hoping to be able to return to action by mid-September.
There will be an international break at the end of August-beginning of September, and another early in October. My guess is, assuming his recovery continues to go well, he may return to action after the October break.
Meanwhile, congratulations are in order—Sergio is getting married this weekend in his hometown of Palencia. Congratulations! (Seems to be something catching, you know—Giuseppe Rossi and Cedric Bakambu have announced their engagements this summer).
Other news: Levante apparently would like Alfonso Pedraza on loan, but I doubt anything will be arranged until he has a chance to make our first team with some preseason friendlies; and Italian rumors are that several clubs in Serie A are interested in Nicola Sansone, but he would cost €25m.
Oh, and on JULY 20 we will get the fixture list. Not the actual dates and times of the matches, of course—that would be far too useful for those of us making plans to travel to Spain to see Villarreal, wouldn’t it?
Endavant!
