Alaves-Villarreal PREVIEW

A win is critical. Seems like I say that every week.

Villarreal close out jornada 32 with a match in the Basque Country against Deportivo Alavés. The home side are doing fine, on 40 points, and certain to have Primera football again next year.

Two players to watch are Marcos Llorente, on loan from Madrid and a player we wanted, and Kiko Feminía, another midfielder whom some say we are interested in now. Alaves usually play a 4-2-3-1 with Deyverson up top; he leads them in goals (6) and yellow cards (12), which is a bit odd.

Villarreal have all sorts of injuries, mainly in midfield (Jona dos Santos, Samu Castillejo, Cheryshev, Rukavina) and Ruiz and Soldado are suspended.

Our team call is:

  • Keepers: Andrés Fernández and Barbosa.
  • Defenders: Mario, Jaume Costa, Álvaro, Musacchio y Bonera.
  • Midfielders: Bruno, Rodrigo, Trigueros, Roberto Soriano, Leo Suárez (number 49), Aitor Cantalapiedra (number 27) y José Carlos Lazo (number 54).
  • Strikers: Bakambu, Adrián López, Sansone, Santos Borré y Mario González (number 39).

I kinda think Sansone and Roberto Soriano will play on the wings—maybe we go to a 4-2-3-1 ourselves with Bruno and Rodrigo as the two, Sansone-Trig-Soriano as the 3, Bakambu as the 1.

Prediction: We played one of our worst matches of the season against Alaves at home, losing 2-0 with the goals coming in the first 20 minutes. I think we will win this one 2-1.
