Alfonso Pedraza watch: will we lose him to Leeds permanently?

A new feature, to be regularly updated.

Alfonso Pedraza’s loan from Villarreal to Leeds United, as you remember, has a provision that allows Leeds to purchase him outright if they win promotion to the EPL. It continues to look as if Leeds will get into the promotion playoffs—they’ve won three and drawn two of their last five.

Pedraza has generally been on the bench, but came on as a sub against Birmingham City and scored eight minutes later—his first goal for the Whites. He did start and play most of the match last Tuesday, a draw against Fulham.

Current Championship table: Newcastle 77, Brighton 74 (first two automatically go up); Huddersfield 68, Leeds 65, Reading 64, Sheffield Wednesday 62. (next four play off for the last promotion spot).

Then Fulham 57, Norwich 53, etc. So it sure seems as though Leeds need to get ready for the playoffs. For what it’s worth, WhoScored has given Pedraza an average of 6.74 so far, which is middling. (Bakambu, Soldado and Adrian are all around 6.66 for us, Sansone 6.81).
