The news is good for Pablo Fornals—all the tests that were run came out OK. He had what is technically called a vasovagal syncope—basically, he fainted. This can happen for a lot of reasons. Fornals is such a dynamo out there, he could have just overheated or had a low blood sugar episode (I have had that happen before while working in sun—have never fainted, but definitely know something is wrong). Hopefully it’s a one-off.
As for Ruben Semedo, the news is less good. He pulled a quad muscle and had to come off early in the second half against Barcelona, and is unlikely to feature in our remaining matches this month (Celta away, Valencia away).
Still no word on Bruno Soriano, who was not listed in the latest injury report before Barcelona but hasn’t been cleared to return to action either.
