Villarreal sign Italian starlet: B and C teams win

Villarreal have continued their Italian interest by signing Davide Castelli to a contract. Castelli is just turning 18, so the Submarine was able to sign him from AlbinoLeffe (a Lego Pro team) for just €160,000. Castelli is an Italian youth international, a striker.

He has joined our Juvenil A side, but expect him to move up. Rumors in the Italian press are that his new Villarreal contract (expiring in June 2021) contains a €20m reserve clause.

Castelli is from the little town of Clusone, and AlbinoLeffe is sort of his local youth club. It’s a big move to Villarreal, and Vila-real!

In other cantera news, Villarreal B had a great win at home last weekend, defeating Barcelona B 2-0. That puts the B-boys sixth on 35 points, three points out of fourth place. Barca B still lead the table on 45 points. Next up: a trip to Sabadell on Sunday.

Villarreal C are now second in their Tercera group after a 2-0 win at Torre Levante. Olimpic Xàtiva lead on 53 points, we have 46, neighbors Castellón are on 45. Next up: we host Elche B.
