Villarreal B are looking for their first victory of the season as they travel to the Ciudad Condal to take on a newly renovated Barcelona B side. Only four players from last season stayed with the Catalan outfit (José Aurelio Suárez, Palencia, Tarín y Gumbau), while the newcomers make Barcelona B one of the most young sides in the division.
Barcelona B has won their two matches in group III of the Segunda B by an ample margin of 3-1 and they’re the current leaders of the group along Valencia B.
Villarreal B began their campaign with a 1-0 defeat against UE Cornella, and they tied last weekend 1-1 against CF Gavà playing with 10 men for the majority of the match at the Ciudad Deportiva.
During last season, Barça defeated Villarreal B with a lone goal by Dani Romera, while both sides tied 1-1 at the Ciudad Deportiva.
Villarreal B news:
The Mini Submarine won’t be counting with the likes of Ramiro and Leo Suárez since both are suspended, as well as Edgar Ié who was called for the UEFA U-21 qualifiers with Portugal. Anton Shvets is also out with injury problems.
The novelties of the squad are the inclusion of recently acquired signing from Real Madrid Castilla José Carlos Lazo while it is expected that Manu Morlanes could be taking Ramiro Guerra’s spot in the double pivot alongside Pablo Larrea.
