Marcelino names 21 men squad for friendlies against Porto and Deportivo

Villarreal manager Marcelino García Toral has selected a 21 men squad that will be facing Porto at the Estadio do Dragao, and Deportivo la Coruña for the Trofeo Teresa Herrera.

Musacchio has been selected for the friendlies after his fail transfer to AC Milan. Mario González has been selected to take Bakambu’s place for the friendlies.

The full squad for the friendlies against Porto and Depor is as follows:

  • Goalkeepers: Asenjo, Andrés and Barbosa
  • Defenders: Mario, Rukavina, Jaume Costa, José Ángel, N’Diaye, Bonera, Musacchio and Víctor Ruiz.
  • Midfielders: Bruno, Trigueros, Jonathan dos Santos, Soriano, Samu Castillejo, Rodri and Cantalapiedra.
  • Strikers: Soldado, Pato and Mario González.

The Yellow expedition will be departing this afternoon in charter flights from the airport of Castellón (13:15 hours) to reach the Porto Airport. Once they arrive in Portuguese lands, Villarreal staff will be staying at the Sheraton Porto Hotel Spa & Resort. And Saturday 6 August, The Submarine will face FC Porto from 22.30 (time in Spain) at the Estadio do Dragao. Once the friendly match endS, The Yellows will be traveling on bus to Lugo to stay at the Hotel Balneario de Guitiriz Spa & Resort.

On Sunday and Monday, Villarreal's first team will be training at the Ciudad Deportiva de Abegondo (19.00) to continue the preseason.

Finally, on Tuesday, August 9th, the Submarine will face RC Deportivo Coruna at the Riazor in the Trofeo Teresa Herrera (20.30). Villarreal will be returning to Castellón in charter flight after the match finalizes.
