Akram Afif made his La Liga debut for Sporting Gijón in their 2-1 victory against Bilbao thus, becoming the first player born in Qatar to debut in Spain. Afif came off the bench in the 73rd minute to replace Burgui. Former Villarreal canterano Moi Gómez assisted Víctor Rodríguez for the winning goal.

Adrián Marín was a starter for Leganés in their 1-0 victory against Celta in Balaídos. He got a yellow card in the 60th and was subbed 2 minutes later. His replacement, Darwin Machís, assisted the winner for Leganés in a historic milestone as it was the club first ever match in Primera División.
Celta were nice enough to award Leganés a plaque in commemoration for their first match and victory in Primera.

Aleksandar Pantić and Cristian Espinoza did not feature for Alavés in their remarkable 1-1 draw against Atleti at the Calderón, nor did they where on the bench.
SEGUNDA DIVISIÓN
Alfonso Pedraza scored in his debut for CD Lugo after a superb solo effort with a smooth finish into the first post. Lugo were not able to hold on to the lead and the match ended in a 2-2 stalemate against Nástic de Tarragona. Former Villarreal players Joselu and Ike Uche were also involved having also scored for Lugo and Nástic respectively.

Pablo Íñiguez started for Rayo Vallecano in their 2-1 defeat against Elche and played the entirety of the match but could not prevent the Vallecas outfit from falling. Former Villarreal graduate Javier Matilla scored a brace for Elche.
