Former Villarreal striker Luciano Vietto is contemplating a return to the Yellow Submarine after failing to impress at the Vicente Calderón.

Vietto played 28 games total for the Colchoneros, starting in only 17 of those appearances, registering 3 goals and recording 5 assists during all season.

Whether sold or loaned away, it's very clear that Atlético want to send Vietto away and replace him with a top class striker. The club has left that task in Vietto's agents hands. Hence why they have been wandering around Italy and England to find Vietto an arrangement.

Atleti's main priority is to sell Vietto and recoup their 20 million invested during last summer. But if that's not possible, they will settle for 15 million, or in this case, a bespoken agreement for a loan move to Villarreal.

According to AS, Vietto and his representatives have already spoken with Villarreal officials to arrange that option. Marcelino has given the OK for the operation and Villarreal have agreed to paid Vietto's full wages.
