Villarreal will not release Musacchio for the Olympic Games

Now that Eric Bailly has been sold, Villarreal will not release Mateo Musacchio to take part in the Rio Olympic Games.  The dates of the games coincide with the Champions League playoff round matches (August 17 and August 24), and we are already without Victor Ruiz for the first leg.

Mateo could play in the Olympics if he is sold to another club and they release him, of course, but at the moment, all expectations are he will report to Vila-real July 11 and be prepared to play for the Submarine in late August.
