After the surprising elimination of Villarreal B in the promotion playoffs, Fran Sol has announced that he will not be continuing with the B team for next season. Fran Sol has been the leading goalscorer for Villarreal B this season with 16 goals. According to reports, Sol has offers from teams to play in the Liga Adelante.
The Madrilean striker arrived two years ago in 2014 from Real Madrid C, and ever since his arrival, he became an ever present fixture and the lead spearhead of attack for Villarreal B, scoring 26 goals in his two year stint. In April of last year, after injuries to Vietto and Gio dos Santos, Fran Sol was handed his first team debut by Marcelino against Real Sociedad at Anoeta, replacing Jaume Costa in the 78th minute.
With Fran Sol's departure, it's expected that the club promotes some of the younger players from the C team and Juvenil squads. Cerem Talha, Mario González, Simón Moreno, Darío Poveda, Danni Villanueva, might be some of the youngsters at task to fill the void left by Fran Sol.
