Villarreal-Real Sociedad PREVIEW

New, comments

Let's hope some good home cooking invigorates the Submarine on Sunday, playing against a Real Sociedad side playing out the string.

Maria José Segovia

Villarreal host Real Sociedad in a vital match in El Madrigal--after consecutive losses on the road, the Submarine needs to get three points from this one.

Real Sociedad lie 13th on 41 points, with frankly nothing to play for, unless some suitcases suddenly showed up to give them incentive....

Villarreal team:

The news here is the return of Castillejo, Pina and Soldado from injury; Musacchio, Jaume Costa and Baptistao are out, but it sounds as though the first two might be available for Liverpool on Thursday.

Real Sociedad are without Jonathas, Carlos Martinez, Agirretxe, Sergio Canales, and Raul Navas.  Their team is Rulli, Olazabal, Zaldua, Aritz, Mikel, Iñigo, Diego Reyes, Héctor, Yuri, Markel Bergara, Pardo, Illarra, Zurutuza, Xabi Prieto, Bruma, Vela, Oyarzabal y Bautista (dorsal 35).  Carlos Vela, Zurutuza and Xabi Prieto are danger men, and Rulli in goal can be quite good.

All-time record: Pretty good.  in the league, 5-4-3 at home, 6-5-2 away.  Last two matches at El Madrigal have been one-sided (4-0 last season, 5-1 the year before that).

Prediction: 2-0 Villarreal (Suarez, Bakambú) ENDAVANT!!!
